Storage Do’s and Don’ts
With summer well underway and some relaxing under your belt, you might have the energy to do some organizing! As you put things in storage, here are some do’s and don’ts.
DO store items properly
If you’re storing items like clothing or bedspreads, be sure to put a few cedar blocks in each bin. Cedar deters moths and bugs from eating your clothes. It also keeps away any musty smell the cloth may acquire while in storage.
DON’T overestimate how much space you have
Before you start hauling bins and boxes into the attic or garage, make sure you have enough space for what you want to store. Items like Christmas decorations and riding lawn mowers take up a lot of space, and you wouldn’t want to get halfway through storing your items only to realize they won’t all fit.
DO look at other options
Maybe you don’t have enough room in your home to store your belongings. Or maybe your storage space isn’t suitable for what you want to store (Christmas candles can’t be stored in the attic, for example). Here at Reliable Moving & Storage, our spacious facilities are designed to keep your valuables safe from pests like moths and elements like heat. They’re also military-approved and protected by tight security. So give us a call today at (205) 591-9199 and let us help you with your storage needs.
